Hanna Pintozzi,
President

President's Biography

Hanna Pintozzi is the President of West Marietta Aglow. She was born in Lima, Peru, and lived in Venezuela for ten years before coming to the US due to a life-threatening illness and fatal heart attack. She suffered with heart disease from her early diagnosis at age 4 until young adulthood. She also underwent various heart surgeries and procedures as a teenager until ultimately doctors gave her a good prognosis at the age of 17.

Due to her illness, she went through much physical and emotional pain and trials as a child and adolescent. She quotes John 10:10, God the giver of an abundant life, for the life that she has and currently lives. She is completely sold out for God and seeks to serve Him in every way possible.

Before coming to WMA, Hanna already lived her life as a public servant. As an active member of her community, and as a way to thank the medical community for how they helped her, she started volunteering at the age of 15 in various hospitals (Gwinnett medical center, Joan Glancy, Egleston Children’s Hospital, etc.) and Habitat for Humanity. Being bilingual, and after experiencing difficulty as a non-English speaker, she volunteered in courts and hospitals as a translator.

From an early age she has occupied offices of leadership from her high school years through her time in the University. Some of the offices held were: District 6910’s Interact Lieutenant Governor, Vice President of Student Services and President of the Senate for Georgia State University’s SGA. She has been the founder of many organizations and committees in the community, in her high school and University. At the age of 19, she founded a Community Center in Roswell as a place for community members, officials and safety personnel to work together in tackling drugs, gangs, prostitution and other social issues through the Bridging the Gap Project. She has also taught community classes, ESL, and organized Health Fairs as one of Jimmy Carter’s Center Intercongregational Health Promoter.

She has served as a public speaker, advocate and received various recognitions and awards, including the top award for Georgia’s Board of Regents’ Student Advisory council’s Delegate of the Year Award and other National University awards and recognitions. In 2001 she was interviewed on CNN as a young person that embodies Dr. Martin Luther King’s ideals and dream. Hanna graduated with a BA in Psychology from Georgia State University.

At the age of 23, she had an encounter with God that forever changed her life. Since then, she has devoted herself to studying and living the Bible and empowering those around her with God’s word. She served as a Crisis Pregnancy Center counselor for 3 years where the Lord used her to save the lives of several babies from abortion. She was also a Pastor’s assistant and partnered in the development of the woman's ministry at the church they attended and now she serves as a speaker for ministries and churches as well.

Hanna is the wife of Devin Pintozzi and the mother of three children (all 3 years and under). She and Devin have worked together in ministry and developed curriculums, trained teachers and taught English as a second language to the immigrant population in various churches and settings. They have been to Cuba and Detroit on Missions trips and look forward to traveling more in the future. They own a publishing company and their books can be found in various bookstores and schools throughout the US. Devin and Hanna will be celebrating 10 wonderful years of marriage in 2008.

2008 marks the beginning of her second term as President of WMA. Under her leadership, WMA will be embarking on their most ambitious plan to date, WMA 2.0. Her innermost desire is to “see God alive in the hearts and lives of people. Not to be mere survivors, but to be more than conquerors (Romans 8:37) and ambassadors for His kingdom (2 Cor. 5:20) - living in victory every day of our lives!”

President's Message

Welcome to West Marietta Aglow Community Lighthouse. Thank you for your interest in this ministry of love, discipleship and outreach. We thank God for the privilege to serve Him and you through what we do.

I'm very thankful and humbled to be in this position of service. I must admit that the past two years of my life have been a challenge. I have served a full two year term as WMA’s president, filled in for the vacancies in the Executive Board, went through two pregnancies, two c-sections, started my three year old in preschool, went through a long house remodel and rearranged and painted over half our house. After this I consider myself ready to undertake pretty much anything.

As we embark on our new assignment, WMA 2.0, I can’t help but be super excited about all the possibilities and all that the Lord has in store for us. As our Aglow president Jane Hansen Hoyt has embarked in a new beginning for her life, so do we join in with her in all the excitement and new beginnings for 2008.

We believe that this is the year of God’s manifestation. All that we have gone through to this point of our lives and ministry will come to fruition now in 2008. We believe the same for YOU! You have been in a state of expectancy and God wants to meet your expectations.

As a woman is pregnant, in a state of expectancy, many changes and preparations must take place. It is up to the mother to go to regular check ups, take vitamins, keep proper nutrition, weight and exercise. At a beginning of a pregnancy, nobody can really tell, but the mom-to-be knows and feels it in every part of her body. Regardless of what others might think, her state does not change. My doctor always told me “you are the baby’s monitor, only you know if something does not feel right.”

The outcome of a healthy and happy pregnancy is greatly dependent upon the mother. In the same way, you are the keeper of the light. You have been assigned to be a bearer of purpose, and as such, there are changes, steps and preparations you must do to ensure survival and birth of your assignment. You are your dream’s monitor! Do not overlook this task. Everything culminates on birth day – or as we say in Spanish “the day of giving light.” I believe that this is the year for our light to come out and shine!

Many times we fall into the lie of "it could never be me," but it is the contrary. It is you!! You are the apple of God's eye. He knew you before you were in your mother's womb and called you for a time such as this.

WMA believes that united, we may step into our destiny through praying, giving, edifying, encouraging and exhorting one another. We will break through together and bring the restoration and promise that is only attained through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.

Hanna’s Hi! Lights – February 2008

“Then your light will break forth like the dawn,
and your healing will quickly appear;
then your righteousness [a] will go before you,
and the glory of the LORD will be your rear guard.” Isaiah 58:8

Wow, What a promise! I remember a time in my life when everything seemed dark. Nothing made me happy. Even the special moments and things that my loved ones, especially my husband, would do for me not only didn’t make me happy, they made me mad. I felt like I was in a pit, yet everything around me said that I was fine. Had a house, friends, financial stability, beautiful car, recognition, love, no major crisis; yet, something was terribly wrong inside of me.

One day as I was driving, as I’m making a mental check list of my life, I asked, “What am I missing?” and as clear loud voice answered “You’re missing God!” All at once, I was terrified, confused, convicted, etc. No way! was my first response, to hearing a voice and questioning how I could possibly miss God: But then, it hit me. It was true. I did all the “right things,” I had all the “right stuff,” but it was all for the wrong motive. I had missed God.

In Isaiah 58, the Lord talks about keeping a true fast and life of service: one that seeks to honor Him, live for Him and give as He has already given. To not turn your back on the needy or oppressed, nor to keep the knowledge you have of Him to yourself and hope that it transfers to others by osmosis. No, he said to set the captives free, to make it your business to help others be fulfilled, but not for others to see it, but because you love God and that’s how you show it. Let your motives be pure, and when they are, your light will shine forth, your joy will come, your needs will be satisfied, your healing will come and your inheritance will be great!

Think about what you’re thinking about as you go through your daily life. Be true to yourself and review your motives. Ask God for revelation. It may not be in an audible voice as in my case, but He will let you know in a way that you alone will understand. “You do not have because you do not ask.” Just ask and be ready to listen and obey.
